Let’s talk about Self-Care!! 🌟

SELF: 🧍🏻
Our world is based on altruistic principles. If you help others, you’re good. If you center your own needs, you’re not. Luckily, we’re starting to realize that giving in abundance without going within is not sustainable. It’s equally important to investigate how you feel mentally and bodily and decide what you need from your environment to stay fit — and help others.

CARE: 🫂
What is care? It includes good sleep, food, sports, a support network, healthy self image, achievable goals and time to do nothing - to relax and play with hobbies and things you want to explore just for the sake of discovering. We need ambition, but we need rest. We need growth, but not to hate ourselves if we fall or stagnate (3 🦶 forward, 2 🦶 backward). And we need to remind ourselves of these things by reading the right content.

We’re nearing a new month with a new theme..

SELF-CARE
🤛🏻❤️‍🔥❤️‍🩹

You wouldn’t leave the house with a fully drained battery, or hit the road with a car that it almost out of fuel, right 🤔? So why do we do it to ourselves?

Are there any topics you would like to explore with us further in the upcoming 30 days? 🗺

What is a healthy mindset?
…a mind that is free to flow from one place to another without rejecting the inflow 🌊
…a safe zone where you decide what is good, neutral and not welcome, that tunes in with your values and responds with adequate self-serving responses ❤️‍🩹
…a space filled with memories that you collected with intention or reluctance but preferably carry with acceptance, because life happens 💔

There are things we let happen, and they shape us.

Sometimes it’s good to accept them in silence as they are
Sometimes they need a reactive approach. A word with someone, an action. Rectification. Respect. Rights.
Sometimes it’s not possible to make things right in hindsight. But you can share your feels and thoughts to process and help others. The right time for this is: ALWAYS. ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥

Interesting news in the sustainable fashion realm. This is something else!!💚💰🪡

@asnbank , a sustainability focused Dutch bank, started a citizens' initiative to force clothing companies to pay a living wage through European legislation. Voluntary initiatives and discussions with clothing companies are - ASN claims - not fast enough.

Most of us are becoming more and more aware of the ethical dilemma’s in the fashion industry. Issues vary from extremely low wages and long hours to unhealthy and unsafe working conditions. Sexual harassment and mental stress - one of the key areas The Pledge covers - are also part of the problem.❗️

We would like to share the developments around these issues, because they concern the core of this industry. Change from inside can trickle down with a domino effect. Female rights within factories are just as important as creatives’ rights on set.

Read the article by @change__inc (the Dutch sustainable news site) to understand the whole concept.

“Can you already tell oatmeal is my fave winter breakfast? So been testing a lot with what milk does what to oatmeal and I learned a lot, here we go:
- @oatly all the oatlies work amazing in oatmeal, the oats get super creamy and very fast as well, for those of you who can’t wait for breakfast. 🤪
- Full fat canned coconut milk, They all seems to be the same, but I am always using @fairtradeoriginal or bought from the toko. These work better in my opinion (also in curries). This might be my favorite way to make oatmeal. The coconut milk is so thick and creamy you don’t even need a lot.
- Alpro]] hazelnut milk. Love the different nutty flavor, but doesn’t really get the consistency I want. 🤨
- @provamel ALL of these work amazing for creamy and thick oats even the almond milk surprisingly!
- Alpro]] almond milk is the biggest no go for me, no taste and it’s basically water...
- @albertheijn refrigerated milks are good, if you want to make coffees from it later, don’t expect foam.
- all the Alpro]] baristas work amazing for creamy oats, I honestly really like the almond and coconut from this one, surprisingly they foam better than the oat barista. 🧐
- @rudehealthnl tigernut milk, it’s sweet but amazing, love the consistency but for a foamy coffee it’s not thé best... (thanks @miek_eats for the recco)
